God looks for the truth within each of us: the truth that demands transparency and ethical motives for our actions, makes us accept to ourselves and to others when we have done wrong, and challenges us to put the interest and well-being of others before ours!
In effect, God wants us to grow in our love for each other, and to evolve unto greater Christlikeness. God wants us to manifest the mind, behavior, and love of Jesus Christ daily.
For those of us experiencing a crisis of belief, this is the time to surrender our questioning minds to God, and ask Him to reveal Himself to us in our private moments. For those of us who have known Jesus for some time, it is time to allow the Holy Spirit to change us, to help us love more, to forgive more, to trust more, and to support others as much as is possible.
An account in the Bible confirms that God can spare a city if a handful are found to be pleasing to Him (Genesis 18:23-26, & 32). Another saying categorically states that when we are right before God, our nation will be exalted (Proverbs 14:34).
It means that our current societal difficulties stem from the fact that most of us who profess to be Christians have NOT YET manifested as sons and daughters of God: non-contentious, joyful, working hard at work, seeing the potential good in others, and not seeking our own benefit to the detriment of others.
If we want our nation to cater to our needs in a fair and equitable manner, then we have to be fair, equitable, and truthful in our relationships. We have to believe that there is good in others, and give others an opportunity to do what is right. We have to trust that God is also working in others, and that He will also bring them to the place where they reflect His personality.
In essence, we have to re-commit to loving God by obeying His laws fully, and to loving our neighbors as we love ourselves. It is a tall order, but something we can achieve if we humbly and truthfully ask God for help. Will you submit your thoughts and actions to Jesus? Would you manifest as a son or daughter of God! Would you do your bit, and trust God to change the world?
The world awaits our Christlike actions; only then will they be inspired to follow suit!
