Do you have a fresh start with God? Have you united with God and accepted His help? Have you been waiting patiently and in faith for your breakthrough? If these are seasons you experienced, then I have good news for you: It is the season to do something about your situation (Eccl. 3:1-8).
IT IS TIME TO ACT!
Our biblical heroes stepped out after hearing from God, and actually did something to change their circumstances. Noah built the Ark, Abraham left Ur of the Chaldees, Moses led the Israelites through the desert, Joshua led the battles that won the Promised Land, David engaged Goliath in battle, and a young Jeremiah answered the call to a prophetic ministry! Each of these men embraced their time to act, and became successful.
There is a time to pray, to wait patiently, and then ……to execute. Have we gotten so spiritual that we have forgotten that faith without works is dead? (James 2:17).
If God is with us, why do we fear and procrastinate? We have to get up; quit hesitating and giving ourselves seemingly plausible reasons for not acting, and get going!
God gives victory to those who add action to prayers, and works to faith.
It indeed is our time to act; we must not delay!

Lesson of the Week

1. Do not be afraid (Isaiah 41:10).
2. Step out in faith (1 Samuel 17:45-51).
The Creator of the Universe commands us not to be afraid because He stands with us against our adversity. Fear often works against faith, and stops us from summoning our inner strength. We must put away fear, especially the fear of failure and ridicule!
Past heroes of faith show us the virtue in following up our prayers with planned action. Each hero planned and executed obediently and flawlessly. When it is time to act, we must learn to act decisively and quickly, and seize victory while it is yet within reach.
Remember that success comes to those who dare; if you do not try, you have no chance of winning!
It is your time to act; just do it, and give God all the glory for your victory.
May God empower you this week to strive, and to overcome.

When we rest in God, as we discussed last week, patience becomes a necessary virtue. This is because God’s times are not our times, and His ways are not our ways. God’s measure of time is also not like ours, and His seasons are different from ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).
We have to be patiently expectant as we wait for God’s promises to manifest! We have to wait in faith!
Are you going through hard times, even though you trust in God?
Are you doing all the right things; praying, believing, and living holy?
Does it seem as if help is not forthcoming? Are you nearing despair?
If your answer to any of these questions is ‘Yes’, then the Lord has a Word for you this week:
Rejoice through your difficulties; for patience is wrought through tough times (James 1:2-3)
Keep on praying to God in faith, and let your good works and holy living mirror your faith (1 Thess. 5:17; James 2:17)
Your help and breakthrough is near; do not lose hope because of this brief difficult season (Psalms 30:5 & 11; Isaiah 59:1).
God has spoken some wonderful words about those who fear and obey Him; He has promised divine health, hope, joy, peace, and prosperity. To receive all these, we have to stay the course as we expect His blessings.
Do not give up now; the heroes of faith before you never gave up, even when the odds seemed so heavily stacked against them. Jesus always shows up on time, so remain patiently expectant!

Lesson of the Week

1. God loves and desires to bless you (Jeremiah 31:3-4).
2. God will do what He promised (Isaiah 55:11-12).
The Creator of the Universe loved us so much He sent His only Son to die for us, more so when we did not yet know Him. He then promised us blessings on earth and in heaven, if we stay true to Him! We did not earn this love; it was freely given so none of us could ever boast.
He who created the worlds by the power of His Word has once again sent that Word out, promising extraordinary blessings and grace upon us; we just have to believe without wavering.
No matter what our situation, we are to pray to Jesus about it, remain positive and patiently expectant, and watch Him do what He does best: “Make Things Happen”.
Do not lose hope; keep your eyes constantly on Jesus, and STAY THE COURSE! 
The Lord God, who created all things loves you and desires to give you the best; receive these blessings graciously and give Him and His Christ all the Glory.

Have an enduring week, and keep the faith.

There is a level of dependence, trust, and faith in God’s capacity to love, protect, and bless that brings about genuine peace; a tranquil state that can only be described as “REST”.
Abraham experienced rest as he obeyed and journeyed for many years towards God’s Promised Land, Moses as he labored at freeing the Israelites from Pharaoh’s bondage and Jonah as he finally submitted to God’s call to Nineveh.
God’s rest is a place of surrender, submission, and quietness in God’s will!
God’s rest comes when we have exhausted our energies in vain while trying to overcome. It comes when we come to the awful realization that we neither have the strength, smarts, nor connections to continue the struggle. It comes when our health, marriage, business, property, or reputation is in jeopardy.
We rest in God when there is no other one to turn to; when all else have failed!
Have you found yourself in any of these situations recently? Do you feel as if the world has left you behind, and all alone? Are you struggling in your situation without success? Has life lost its sweetness?
If any of these situations refer to you, then Jesus is asking you today to allow Him shoulder your burdens; He alone is strong and compassionate enough to bear these weights off of your shoulders  (Matthew 11:28-30).
Cease the struggle today, join your faith in God to a submissive spirit, and let God into your situation. There is nothing too difficult for Him to do, and there is no wisdom such as His! God has promised us peace while He fights our battles (Exodus 14:14). He has promised us victory if we trust and depend on Him (Isaiah 40:28-31).
Ask Jesus today for His rest; He will answer speedily because that is why He died and rose again!

Lesson of the Week

1. Stop struggling on your own strength (Jeremiah 17:5-8).
2. Ask Jesus for the faith and strength to cast all your cares upon Him (Psalms 55:22 & 1 Peter 5:6-7).
God is standing by, waiting for you to invite Him into your situation!
Stop depending on your feeble strength and shallow knowledge, and reach out to God! He disdains those who trust in their own power, but upholds and blesses those who put their trust in Him.
Pray for strength and faith to trust the invincible, invisible, and Almighty Father in your situation.
Jesus cannot fail; His knowledge and power are limitless, and He stands at your door awaiting your invitation.
I have entered into God’s rest, and I attest that there is no better place to be; will you join me today?
Entering God’s rest will usher in peace, healing, victory, joy, love, and life in abundance. Only He can give these; only He will give these.
Seek first the Kingdom of God, and everything else will be added to you (Matthew 6:30-33).
Do not delay!

A common or shared vision is known to usher in victory; ask successful business persons, ask couples who pray together, and if you are not convinced, how about asking God!   
When two or more people unite to pursue a goal, the seemingly impossible becomes attainable!
When men united to build the Tower of Babel, even God acknowledged they would achieve the impossible if not deterred (Genesis 11:6-9). Noah, with the help of his three sons, built the Ark that housed the remnant of God’s creation; Gideon, with 300 men, routed the Midianite army (Judges 7:22). And our Lord Jesus changed the world with His gospel of peace, and twelve disciples.
Join forces with someone else who shares your vision!
Pray to God together about your plans, and then execute diligently!
God has promised that if we place Him in the center of our plans, we shall definitely succeed, and the nearly impossible will become possible (Luke 1:37).
So what is it that currently troubles you? Is it your job, family, marriage, health, future, or finances?
Whatever your troubles are, bring them to God, unite with Him and those who share the same vision with you, and experience the joy and amazement of being more than a conqueror!
Watch God perform the impossible on your behalf just because you leveraged the spiritual principle of exponential breakthroughs through alliances.
I have learned to bare my soul to those closest to me, for I know that in doing so, I am uniting to achieve the impossible. Will you trust God and Man, and do the same this week? Your future successes depend on it!

Lesson of the Week

1. Align with someone with the same dreams (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
2. Ask God together in faith (Matthew 18:18-20).
There is strength in numbers, and exponentially so in the spiritual realm. Find someone who will agree with you about your desires; God says a union like that cannot be easily broken.
Pray together about your desires. God says that corporate prayer achieves so much more than individual prayer, binding and loosing things on earth and in heaven.
I ask you this week to put down your guard, take away your ego and your fears, and trust someone again!
You will find that in doing so, you are uniting for the impossible, and your life will never be the same again.
God cannot lie; He has promised you the impossible if you will only reach out to Him, and to others.
Taste the Lord, and see that He is good. Enjoy His mercies, renewal, blessings, and presence!
May the victory be yours this week, and may the Lord Jesus be glorified as you obey completely.

Our new life with Jesus demands that we lean on Him; that we humbly and gratefully accept His help!  
We failed in the past because we thought we could meet God’s standards of right living on our own strength and ability. We thought we could earn His grace!
The bible is replete with anointed men of God who tried unsuccessfully to go it alone: from Jacob wrestling with God, to Moses trying to judge the desert-wandering Israelites alone, Elijah who thought he alone remained of God’s faithful prophets, and Peter who swore he would never betray Jesus. These men and many more, only lived up to their potential as godly leaders when they depended on God and their fellow men for help.
Accepting God’s help humbles us!
Accepting God’s help gives Him the glory for our victories!
Accepting help from our neighbors fosters unity, and united is how God wants us to co-exist!
Jesus exemplified this when He prepared His disciples for the evangelical work ahead; He utilized those He trained during His 3-year ministry for the huge assignment of spreading the Gospel to the whole world.
We therefore accept help from God when we invite the Holy Spirit to come and dwell in our hearts, teaching and instructing us to lead godly lives that would eventually draw others to Jesus.
Finally, accepting help allows others to be a blessing to us, and opens heaven’s doors for those who blessed us to be blessed also. God has promised that those who water shall also be watered (Proverbs 11:25).
Will you accept help today from God, and from those He has specially prepared to be of assistance to you? Only through this can there be humility, oneness, victory, and glory to God and His Christ!

Lesson of the Week

1. Ask God for help, as many times as you can (Matthew 7:7-8).
2. Align with like-minded people; there is victory in collaboration (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
Asking for help takes humility, and God values a humble spirit!
David asked for God’s forgiveness, and understood that God will not cast out anyone who is genuinely humble (Psalms 51:17). Will you ask God for help today, or will you continue to strive fruitlessly on your own?
Collaborating with others towards a common goal is unity, and God has promised that those who work in unity cannot be denied their goal or aspiration (Genesis 11:5-6).
Every leadership or management text talks about teams with common goals. We need to accept that everyone has a special skill that if properly harnessed, could be an asset. I urge us today to put aside our pride, and to reach out to others for help or assistance.
God acknowledges the strength in numbers, predicting that the advantage in adding one more person to our team is often exponential (Deuteronomy 32:30).
Jesus had His twelve, David had his three mighty men (2 Sam 23:8-17), and Jesus’ disciples were sent out in twos! Where is your helper? Where is your God? Where is your friend who sticks closer than a brother?
Seek Jesus today; accept His help this week, and glorify God through your dependence on Jesus!

And so with a new beginning comes the resolve to look ahead and not at the past!
The past happened, but because we believe in the promises of Jesus, we know all our past failings have been washed away by the precious Blood of the Lamb. We have the authority to walk as though we never sinned, to look ahead with hope, and to overcome the sins that used to so easily beset us!
Looking ahead requires that we accept God’s mercy with grace, embrace His help in future times of need, and stay on the paths of holiness with all our resolve and submission to God.
Regardless of what we have gone through, we should remember that our trials should be faced with joy, because victory has been won on the Cross, and wonderful testimonies would emanate from them, if we stay the course.
Do not look back!
Focus on today and the future!!
Ask God for strength and patience to weather the storms, and to stand!!!
Forgive others who have wronged you, just as the Lord God has forgiven you!!!!
Mercy has been bestowed upon you; do likewise to others!!!!!
May the anticipation of future victories give you the strength to get back in the race, knowing that heavenly witnesses are cheering for you.
Look up to the hills, to God, and to His Son Jesus; only from there can true help come in this time of need. God has promised never to leave you nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5). Set your face like stone on this promise, looking ahead in hope, joy, and victory.

Lesson of the Week

1. Get back in line, and never look back at your forgiven past (Luke 9:62).
2. Stay focused on God, and ways to please Him (Psalms 121:1-3).
A new beginning means picking yourself up from the dirt and shame, and getting back to the good graces of God. It means forging ahead, and refusing to look backwards!
Lot’s wife looked backwards and turned into a pillar of Salt (Genesis 19:26); Rahab looked ahead and became the reason for the survival of her family after the fall of Jericho (Joshua 6:23-25).
Keep your eyes on God who has promised you a new beginning; do not waver!
Peter kept his eyes on the Lord Jesus and walked on water (Matthew 14:29); James warned us that if we waver in our faith in God, we will not receive anything from Him (James 1:6-7).
Walk your new walk with God, confidently looking to Him for guidance, protection, healing, and provision. God promised; He cannot fail, so look ahead in faith.
May God empower you and grant you grace for the journey ahead, and may you STAND!

I have missed being an instrument of God’s encouragement and inspiration these past two weeks, but I know our Lord Jesus made alternative provisions for you to be fed while this newsletter took a 2-week hiatus!
We are back; hopefully with more spiritual insight and humility as we minister to the Master’s Men.
Let us go back to the basics today, remembering that Jesus came to save the world while we were ALL still steeped in sin! God loved us before we knew Him, gave His greatest love gift despite our failings, and continues to reach out to us regardless of our current unworthy condition. What a loving Father!!
Whatever our situation today, God is still desirous of redeeming and restoring us to His standards of living. We cannot earn His mercy and grace; it is freely and abundantly given, for His mercies are not only new every day, but they also endure forever (Lam 3:22-23).
Are you struggling, and finding it difficult to forgive yourself for your recurring weaknesses? Are you afraid of sharing your failings or secrets with your spouse, mentor, or close confidant? I have good news for you! Do not be afraid; step out in faith and confess, and the Lord will begin the healing process for everyone involved.
The Lord wants to wipe our tears, and take us to greater heights, but we must first do the needful thing – confess, repent, and ask for His strength to embark on our new journey of faith, hope, and right living. As we do this, let us remind ourselves that the race is not to the fast or strong, but we stay in it because of God’s timing and enablement (Ecclesiastes 9:11).
Believe in your new beginning, and ask God for help to keep looking forward, and never backward!

Lesson of the Week

1. Confess, repent, and expect your restoration (2 Chronicles 7:14).
2. God does not condemn you; do not condemn yourself (Romans 8:1).
A new beginning starts with confession, repentance, and rejection of past failings/sins.
God has promised that if we diligently seek Him during this period, He will hear our cry, forgive our sins, and begin a sustained recovery and restoration process that no one can take away from us. Trust Him for this!!
Do not entertain any guilt trips due to your past; if God has forgiven you and wiped your slate clean, who else can condemn you? There should not be any self-condemnation!
We tend to look back to the things we did, and wonder how anyone could ever forgive us; the shame is sometimes too much to bear! However, He who gave His Son to die for us when we did not yet know Him (our Heavenly Father) has promised to make us white as snow (Isaiah 1:18).
Read the Bible, ask for God’s special joy, and revel in your new relationship with Him! Love others, share your good fortune freely, encourage and support others; be a vessel for your Master’s use!
May the Holy Spirit encompass you with His warmth and wisdom, and may you truly thrive in your new-found relationship with God, and His Christ.

In Jesus’ thirteenth parable, He tells the story of the good seed that was spread on the ground; of its own accord it sprouts, grows into a fruitful plant, and is eventually harvested by the sower (Mark 4:26-29).
The seed is the Word of God shared with others, and has such redemptive and restorative power that He re-invigorates the lives of those who receive Him. We are therefore fruitful, even as the gardener waters, prunes, supports, and feeds us through the process; the gardener represents everyone (not just one person) used by God to instruct and guide us through our spiritual growth process.
The seed, being the Word of God, has life of its own, and will grow in the most minimal of supportive environments – a heart that is open to positive change.
Are you prepared to welcome God’s Word into your heart and life, again?
Are you open to teaching and encouragement from others in order to grow or mature? Are you humble enough?
Do you understand that just as God has used different people at varying periods of your life to minister to you, that He expects you at maturity to be a support and guide for others also?
Are you encouraged by the fact that God’s Word has life, and will eventually accomplish its purpose in your life?
Do you know there will come a day of harvest; a time when God’s people will be called up to Him?
Will you allow God’s Word be a growing seed within you, changing you into His image – loving, giving, forgiving, and supporting others?

Lesson of the Week

1. Ask God to plant His Word inside of you (Psalm 119:11-12).
2. Ask God to strengthen you in your weakness (2 Cor. 12:9-10).
We are good ground; we will open our hearts for the indwelling of God’s wisdom.
As long as God is still speaking to us, He has marked us as vessels for His future use. Let us take heart in our difficulties, trusting Him for our cleansing, redemption, promotion, and usefulness in His kingdom. As He teaches us as we are yet young, we shall not depart from His wisdom in our later years (Proverbs 22:6).
We will accept godly counsel from those God has prepared beforehand to help us stand at different difficult periods in our lives.
Help to mature in Him, and to meet our divine potential is available. His Word is growing inside us, and will eventually accomplish its purpose (Isaiah 55:11).
God’s Word (the seed), and the positive change it brings, continues to grow in us. It does so, not because we are good ground, but because His Word is alive, powerful, and cannot be denied.
We will put aside therefore, the sin that so easily hinders us, and we will run God’s race with strength, faith, and commitment, regardless of the snares along the way (Hebrews 12:1-2).
And we will not look back again! May we be found faithful on the Last Day!

Weekly Nugget: “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour” (1 Cor. 3:6-8, KJV).

Last week we studied the first part of Jesus’ twelfth parable; we will be looking at the concluding part this week.  
The parable of the “weeds and good plants” discouraged prematurely weeding the field because some good plants could be destroyed along with the weeds (collateral damage).
Do you see yourself as a good plant, or as a weed?
A good plant bears fruit while a weed selfishly and greedily takes up whatever good there is in the land without producing anything. A weed takes, grows, and dies fruitlessly; it is often set aside for uprooting and burning.
But do you know that because nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37), He can change weeds to good plants? Do you realize that is why God is so patient with sinners; He gives us all chances to metamorphose from weeds to good plants, from sinners to the redeemed?
I am a firm believer that those that wait upon the Lord shall have their strength renewed; they shall do extraordinary feats (Isaiah 40:31). I also know that those that sow in tears shall ultimately reap in joy (Psalm 126:5-6).
It is possible to be a weed today and a good plant tomorrow; only God the Eternal Creator can make this happen, and He continually does this in the lives of everyday men and women like us! Whatever inadequacies you experience, give it over to God, and you will experience His renewal and restoration.
In God’s eyes, a weed is a good plant waiting to manifest, and a good plant is created to bear fruit through inspiring the weed to productiveness. Weeds can transform to good plants, and good plants can inspire fruitfulness in others.
Whichever one you are, STAY THE COURSE, AND STAND!!

Lesson of the Week

1. Ask God to change you into a fruitful, good plant (John 15:3-5).
2. Ask God to recreate and remake you for better things (Psalm 51:1-13).
Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future (author unknown).
If you are a saint (a righteous person, a good plant), you began your journey somewhere. Likewise, if you are a weed (struggling with God’s instructions for His children), you are headed somewhere!
Our responsibility is to always ask God to make us better, changing from worse to bad, from bad to good, from good to better, and so on. Only the Creator of All things is able to change weeds to good plants, and to call forth the things that do not exist and cause them to BE! Only He is patient, wise, and merciful enough to do these things for those who do not YET know Him or acknowledge His Son, Jesus as lord, savior, and king.
I urge us this week to pick ourselves up, and to get back on the straight and narrow road of transformation. It is not an easy road, for our Lord Jesus said of this road: “…only a few people can find it…”(Matthew 7:13-14).
But at the end, we are assured of living lives worth emulating, of bearing fruit that endures, and of making positive impacts in the lives of others. We are sure of our next destination….
For now, we, the weeds and the good plants, live together; dreading or anticipating the day of harvest! 

Weekly Nugget: “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:16-19, KJV).

Jesus’ twelfth parable focuses on the co-existence of all God’s children: the wicked and the righteous, until the Day of Judgment. He narrates how the good seed was found to have weeds growing amongst them, and how the laborers wanted to uproot them from amongst the good plants immediately. The farm owner however, commands them to leave the weeds alone to grow alongside the good plants for fear that some of the good plants would also be destroyed during the weeding exercise. He assures his harvesters that they would get their chance to gather and destroy the weeds when the harvesting season came!
According to Jesus, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels”.
Are you upset at the going trend that suggests the wicked prosper along with the righteous? Are you even more distressed at the fact that while the wicked prosper, some of the righteous seem to stumble from one difficulty to another? Are you discouraged and tempted to become a weed instead of a good plant? Do you think God is being unfair for giving the wicked ample time to reconsider their ways? Are you scared that the presence of weeds might undermine the health of the good plants?
Are you a good plant or a weed? Are you patient and non-judgmental, knowing that only God can ultimately determine who the weeds or good plants are?
More importantly, do you think there is a chance that some weeds would eventually turn out as good plants?

Lesson of the Week

1. Ask God for the grace not to judge others (Matthew 7:1-2).
2. Trust in God’s infinite wisdom and love for ALL His children (Isaiah 1:18).
God does not want us to judge others, no matter how terrible they might be. This is because ALL have sinned and are guilty, regardless of whether the sins were small or great!
Our prayer should be that we should be strengthened to run our race, and not look at others or envy them. In doing that, we should not resent them for ‘having it all’ (as the world would say), neither should we hope for the quick return of our Lord Jesus so that judgment can speedily be administered. Only the Father knows the weeds from the good plants; we should ask for grace to remain good plants, and the meekness of spirit to pray for those who have lost their way (the weeds).
Do you know that the weeds also exist by the grace and permission of God? Only His love for all His creation stays His hand from the immediate destruction of those who fall short.
God’s hope is that a longer tenure in the fields (the world) would afford the weeds a chance to mend their ways! In the meantime, the good plants must persevere alongside the weeds, righteously competing in love for the blessings of life with those whose only reason for living is to suffocate those around them.
The good news: with Christ, we the good plants are greater than victors (Romans 8:37), and will survive, nay, thrive, until the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
