DO NOT WORRY

It is only human that when faced with situations we cannot easily control or influence, we worry!
We worry about the outcome, the effects, and other people’s impressions of us. We worry because we feel helpless, having tried and failed multiple times.
Is your worry about work, school, family, health, or business concerns? Have you tried your best, and come to the conclusion that you are on a downward slide? Have you become anxious, despondent, and difficult to live with? Are you living with worry and fear?
When we worry, we display a lack of faith in God!
But God tells us not to fret, fear, or be anxious about anything (Philippians 4:6). He wants us to trust Him completely, regardless of what the situation might seem like (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Jesus reminds us that our Heavenly Father takes care of the birds of the air, and promises that we would be taken care of also (Matthew 6:25-26). In order to show how important it is for us NOT to worry, there are about 365 ‘fret nots’ or ‘worry nots’ in the bible; one for each day!
Worry is lack of faith, and faith is required if we are to receive anything from God (James 1:6-8).
The Creator of the Universe, the repository of all power and knowledge, and the only ONE who can change all things, is on your side. He works for you so you do not have to struggle. He works for your good.
He is telling you today NOT TO WORRY! Trust Him completely and see your situations changed for the best.
Fear not; Fret not; Worry not!
Lesson of the Week 1. God will be with us through every difficulty (Isaiah 43:1-2)
2. When we hurt, God promises healing and comfort (Malachi 4:2)
There will be difficulties and seemingly intractable situations; God has promised to see us through them.
He did not say there wouldn’t be tough times; He just said He will be with us as we navigate them. He says we will be better human beings because of our trials (James 1:2-4).
Even when hurt, disappointment, and fear come our way, the Balm of Gilead, the Comforter, and the Great Healer will be there to lift us up, soothe us, and heal us.
Trust God’s promise today and cease from worrying about something you cannot change. Give it all to God in prayer, and let Jesus do what He does best: heal broken hearts and relationships.
Stop dwelling on that situation; your fretting cannot fix it. Give it to God, and stop being afraid!
Forgive those who have hurt you, and ask God for the grace to keep loving and seeing the good in others.
May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob visit you this week, and may His peace dwell with you always.
Greetings from The Great Comforter!
Weekly Nugget: “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7; KJV)
