TAKING CARE OF TODAY

We worry so much about the future that we forget to live the present!
Expecting great things ahead without making any efforts to achieve results today is foolhardy; faith without works is dead (James 2:26). A dreamer cannot dream his/her way to success; there is a time to imagine, and a time to work!
Yesterday is dead and gone, tomorrow is out of sight, but today, yes today, we can make good use of the time available and make a difference.
We need to learn how to take care of today; if we do so, tomorrow will automatically fall in line!
Have you been lazy in the past? Have you lost jobs, opportunities, friends, spouse, children, or possessions in the past? Do you feel you have wasted too much time on a prospect? Do you feel like a failure? Do these missed opportunities cause you to fear and worry about your future? There is good news!
Change your perspective; whatever your vocation is now, do it wholeheartedly with all your skill, strength, and heart. The success of your ‘tomorrow’ depends on the work you put in ‘today’.
Sow diligently now, and you will see the fruits of your labor. But if you do not work at something, how can you reap bountifully. God wants to bless the work of your hands, but your hands must first have work to do!
Jesus asked us to work or search while it is still daylight, because when night falls, it will be too dark to do or see anything (John 9:4). The first step to success is taking care of business now and today! Tomorrow will fall into place.
Finally, put it to prayer! Do it NOW! Pray about it NOW! Take care of your today!

Lesson of the Week

1. Plan your activities, then work at them steadily and without doubting (Luke 9:62)
2. Do an excellent job, no matter how small the task (Luke 16:10)
It is good to dream, but you have to plan how your dream can be actualized, and then work that plan!
The ability to translate our dreams into sustained action is critical to ‘taking care of today’. We not only have to work at things, but WE HAVE TO WORK AT THINGS DILIGENTLY, STEADILY, CONSISTENTLY, AND FOR AS LONG AS IT WILL TAKE.
When we excel in small assignments, spiritual laws stress that larger responsibilities will come our way!
The parable of the ‘talents’ depict this principle, and workplace scenarios that reward excellent employees support it. He who does well is given more responsibilities or rewards; while he who did poorly has the little he began with taken away from him (Matthew 25:29).
Let us resolve today to get back to work and productivity; let us take care of today, forget the failings of yesterday, and stop worrying about our future. God will open doors if we are willing to work hard; He has promised us great things if we stay diligently hard-working.
This week and from now on, resolve to do this, prosper, and inspire others also!
God bless you, and grant you success.
